Why we created the Boomerang Home GYM

It all started with a car accident some 14 years ago in which Ruth received a severe whiplash.

While managing my own accounting and taxation practice,
I had become a Certified Gym Instructor.

That’s why Ruth asked me if I could design an exercise routine that would help her lose weight after months of physical inactivity due to the accident and also because of her going through Menopause at the time.

Why we created the Boomerang Home GYM

It all started with a car accident some 14 years ago in which Ruth received a severe whiplash.

While managing my own accounting and taxation practice, I had become a Certified Gym Instructor.

That’s why Ruth asked me if I could design an exercise routine that would help her lose weight after months of physical inactivity due to the accident and also because of her going through menopause at the time.

We have always been nutrition and exercise conscious, Ruth as a Reflexologist and I having served in the Special Forces of the Dutch Marine Corps as a young man.

As Ruth did not want to attend a gym or spend time walking around the block, we decided that the exercise routine should be able to be done at home; that it should be brief but effective enough to work the whole body without the need to get down on to the floor.

The Boomerang Resistance Exerciser and Music

As most of us tend to suffer from hanging Tricep muscles as we grow older (and fatter?), and as dancing (Zumba?) or walking mainly works the muscles of the lower the body, I decided to incorporate a device to work and strengthen the upper body by using the isometric principle of strengthening muscles i.e. using the Boomerang Resistance Exerciser.

We also recognized the importance of music with a beat for doing these exercises but wanted to avoid the typical hip pop, gym-type music which is used with their aerobic exercise routines.

So, we composed music that would be relaxing and soothing to the mind, yet still with a beat to which to do the exercises.

There are many benefits to doing the Boomerang Home GYM, especially if you are overweight and over 40, a senior or a member of Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, and wish to incorporate a regular, low impact yet effective exercise routine in your daily life that addresses the lower as well as the upper body without the need to get down on to the floor to do these exercises!
